Construction of Bore Well
HH4U has completed the construction of a bore well in Annapalli, Ramasamudram! This part of the village has not had water facilities for one and a half years due to the previous one having dried up during to drought. Now, the bore well is nearly finished and the villagers will have unlimited access to clean water!
Sanitation Facilities

90% of the 35,000 villagers in Ramasamudrum are unable to read or write in any language.
BACK 2 SCHOOL PROGRAMME
Helping Hands for Underprivileged is committed to sending children to school in the village of Ramasamudrum with its Back 2 School Programme. Donations from the general public have allowed this charity to already send children to the local Primary School! We are currently educating 72 children at the school, with a 100% attendance rate!
Two more teachers have been hired and another cook has been taken on to provide lunch for the schoolchildren and their parents. Four volunteers from Europe and the UK are teaching English at the local Primary School. Of course, one of the most important aspects of this is that these children do not have to go back to the fields to work 8-10 hour days. It also means that they get to have the benefits of education as all children should do.
PRIMARY SCHOOL
The existing primary school in Ramasamudrum holds 200 children. The school has six small rooms. Currently, the children sit on the concrete floor and the rooms are very dark and small meaning the children cannot move freely to learn.
This charity is constructing a brand new Primary School for the children so that they may learn comfortably and effectively.
Our development includes the construction of 12 rooms including classrooms, office & storage, a canteen and toilets. We will also be providing tables and chairs for the children to learn. Part of our new school will be the time for children to stay behind after school to have help with their homework — since most of the parents in the village are illiterate, are hard at work in the fields and there is no electricity in most of the houses for the children to work with.

BUILDING A SECONDARY SCHOOL
Helping Hands for Underprivileged is now preparing the construction of a Secondary School in the village which will allow children to reach University level and then access higher education at any facility within the country or abroad.
The Secondary School will be the first to provide English medium in the area (previously they would have had to have the money and time to travel to the nearest city, which is Bangalore for this; and children would have to stay with relatives during term-time). The new school will allow children to learn within their own environment, close to their families, and learn English medium.
This exciting project will see the construction of: Classrooms, Computer room, Science laboratory, Library, Main hall, Dining hall and Study hall
