Helping Hands for Underprivileged is a UK registered Charity devoted to empowering children in both the UK and India.

LATEST NEWS!!

-We have started growing vegetable at the house in India. We are now able to supply fresh organic vegetables to the schhol without resourcing them externally; creating a self subsistence. See photos below.

Growing Vegetables

-The charity is sponsoring five homeless elderly people this year. All ladies, they will be provided with a home and also have the benefit of someone who can attend to their needs, such as cooking and washing their clothes. This began from 23rd November and we hope to continue this until the ladies are able to support themselves.

We are growing vegetables in the voluntary house. These vegetables will be used for school meals, reducing the cost of food expenses as well as educating the local people so that they can grow their own vegetables.

The charity has rented a new hostel from the start of December. The hostel has a large dining hall, kitchen and storage rooms. There is also electricity and clean water supply, both of which were not available in the previous hostel. The larger dining hall means that the children can all eat meals at the same time.

OUR HOUSE IN INDIA

House

We took these images of the house we have built from our latest trip to India in October 2009.         This house was built in 2007 using funds very generously donated from a Helping Hands for Underprivileged donor. The house is used for overseas volunteer teachers who work with the children of the village, allowing the teachers to stay for long periods of time.

Suzie In india, June 2009

Suzie travels to India to check on the schools that the charity sponsors. While there she gives the children sweets, inspects the food preperation areas and assists in feeding the children lunch. She also visits a village that has no running water. She promises to raise funds...it only costs £1500 to give a village running water(!). Can you help?
